Since Firefox made tabbing popular and easy for me, I have developed a sense of demand for it. Oncourse is something that should definitely have it, and they should be fully customizable. I should be able to move them into whatever order I want, and I should be able to rename them as I see fit. On the left bar, if I wish to have Announcements at a more convenient position then Oncourse should satisfy that desire. Also, I want my classes to be organized together by past semesters, so a drop-down list may be a good way to reflect that. I think that other Oncourse users and haters share my same thoughts, and my group’s research shows that there are many that do wish it had better general preferences. My sketch reflects these thoughts.

I think pulling the idea from Firefox is a good idea since many users are familiar with it. I especially like that you have the X option next to each tab, but I wonder if in Oncourse’s case this could be a bad idea. Do you wish to have the classes each have their own tabs all the time? When you click on “resources” do all the class tabs open?
I think this is a good start to improving Oncourse, but it seems a little confusing and needs to be simplified further.

I think that having the tabs idea is great. It makes it even better to make them customizable. I also like the idea to be able to organize them as you want and label them as you want.
Would you want to display the current semester as default? I like the semester tabs, but when you click on a semester, you will have to customize each semester??
Is there a home page? or just the first tab would be the home page?
In general I like it, I just have questions about the site.
